İzmir or Bodrum Airport: Which Is Closer?

Kuşadası and Ephesus: fly into İzmir
From İzmir the drive to Kuşadası takes about 1 hr 15 min and to Selçuk about 55 min, both via the İzmir–Aydın motorway. The HAVAŞ Kuşadası bus leaves from the arrivals exits and stops in Selçuk, and İZBAN reaches Selçuk with a change at Tepeköy — public transport options you do not have from Bodrum.
Didim and Bodrum: consider Milas-Bodrum
Didim is about 84 km from Milas-Bodrum against 140 km from İzmir, so Bodrum airport is usually the shorter drive — but İzmir may have the better flight from your home airport, and a transfer from İzmir to Didim takes about 1 hr 55 min. HAVAŞ does not run from İzmir airport to Didim, and its Didim–Milas-Bodrum line ended in August 2026. For Bodrum itself, flying into Milas-Bodrum saves a long drive of about 3 hr from İzmir.
Pamukkale: Denizli or İzmir?
Denizli Çardak Airport is about 70 km from Pamukkale, but its flights come mainly from Istanbul. If you are combining Pamukkale with the coast, flying into İzmir and taking a transfer to Pamukkale — or hiring a car — is often the more practical plan. Allow at least one night there.
Flights and timing
Both İzmir and Milas-Bodrum have many summer flights from the UK and Europe, and İzmir also has a busy year-round domestic network with frequent Istanbul flights. Compare flight times, not just distance: an extra hour on the road can be worth it for a better schedule. See airlines at İzmir.
